Lennart Saari with Common Gull
The aim of A Rocha Finland is to enhance nature conservation work in Finland. To date, our activities have concentrated on the Turku region in SW Finland, but we hope to spread out to other parts of the country as well. We arrange nature excursions and nature days for families with an emphasis on environmental education. We are also preparing a seminar on Ecological Theology which will be held on 6th September 2008.

The Komonen Farm
After months of planning A Rocha Finland was founded in Vivamo in 2002. The initial committee, chaired by Docent Lennart Saari, was warmly welcomed both in academic circles and in churches. The Christian media has also shown a growing interest in A Rocha Finland. The committee is inter-denominational and consists of a wide variety of professionals in Biology and other relevant fields. All work is done on a volunteer basis.

Excursions to the Finnish archipelago (Aasla)
Congregations and other organisations can invite us to give talks on Christian Nature conservation and to present our work and visions. We are also open to new ideas and co-operation. If you are interested in partnering with us, please see the left bar for contact details.
