A Rocha France Team and National CommitteeTeamPaul Jeanson, National DirectorPaul has been involved in international conservation for many years, is treasurer of IUCN France and a member of the Eurosite network. For twenty years the director of France's largest private ornithological reserve, at Marquenterre in the Baie de Somme, he now runs the Compagnie Internationale pour le Developpement et la Nature (CIDENA). He is also a member of the A Rocha International committee. Jean-Pierre and Martine Charlemagne, Centre Wardens14 years on "the Caillou" and 20 years on "the Plateau" before coming to nest at A Rocha... This is Martine & Jean-Pierre's migration. They worked in New Caledonia in office management, leading and teaching Natural Science, then in Haute-Loire where they managed a holiday and guest centre. Priscille PelletierPriscille joined A Rocha France in October 2003, having come from Israel where she was working as a volunteer. She is an ecologist specialising in aquatic ecosystems. Peter and Miranda HarrisIn addition to their roles as Directors of A Rocha International, Peter and Miranda are integral parts of the A Rocha France team. Together with national colleagues they founded the French project and continue to provide counsel, pastoral care and hospitality. Their home is in Fontvieille, a village not far from Les Tourades. Their story is told in Under the Bright Wings. François and Sophie TronFrançois and Sophie returned to France in December 2002 after two years aiding the development of a church-operated dairy and teaching in the associated school in Madagascar. They are both agronomists from the University at Lyon. In early 2003, together with their little daughter Fleur, they joined the team of A Rocha France at Les Tourades. National CommitteeDr Pierre Berthoud (Chairman)Professor (and former Dean) of the Reformed Theology Faculty at Aix-en-Provence, Pierre is also chairman of the Ligue pour la Lecture de la Bible (the French branch of Scripture Union). Frédéric BaudinFrédéric was instrumental in setting up A Rocha France. Author of several books, he now works full-time as a writer and conference-speaker for the association Culture-Environnement-Médias (CEM). |
