Welcome! A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand is A Rocha's newest national organisation, being officially adopted by A Rocha International in April 2007. We are now in the process of applying to be registered in New Zealand as a charitable trust.

Goals

EDUCATION: To encourage and resource all major branches of the church in New Zealand to adopt creation-care and ecological thinking as a biblical, essential and integral part of the Christian life and message.

COMMUNITY: To re-connect a wide range of people with the creation through active participation in environmental restoration projects, conservation-related research and outdoor recreation.

PARTNERSHIPS AND NETWORKS: To develop our vision, guiding kaupapa and all activities in true partnership with Tangata Whenua. And, to develop co-operative networks with a range of educational institutions and conservation organisations.

PRACTICAL PROJECTS: To become actively engaged in one or more environmental restoration projects based on sound scientific research.

FIELD CENTRE: To establish (an) A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand field centre(s) as a place where people from all walks of life can contribute to relevant research, education and conservation projects, while living in a Christian community where sustainable living is fundamental.

Current Needs

We are looking for other people who are willing to commit time and resources to support this project as it develops. Our most immediate needs are for:

someone with expertise in teaching/education (maybe a retired teacher or teacher with spare time...) who can help us develop educational resources
a graphic designer
