A Rocha Peru

A Rocha Peru banner

Peru offers unique opportunities for scientific research and ecotourism, with over 1,800 species of birds (19% of the world’s species) and a rich diversity of both wildlife and human cultures. Furthermore, Peru has more than 80% of the world’s ecosystems, being considered a megadiverse country, and so research and conservation is vital.

A Rocha Peru is a non-profit Christian organization registered under Peruvian Law (No 11765658). It is led by an interdisciplinary group of professionals committed to conservation. Their main activities are:

  • Designing and implementing conservation projects, with an emphasis on wetlands and forests.
  • Designing and implementing environmental education and training projects, rooted in the Biblical principle of responsible stewardship.

In February 2004 A Rocha Peru joined the worldwide A Rocha family and that October a launch conference took place.
