Launch conference

A Rocha Peru was publically launched at a conference in October 2004 at the Museum of Natural History, Lima. The keynote speaker was Peter Harris who spoke on "Nature conservation as a moral responsibility".

“It is my conviction that the challenge of proper care for the earth will be beyond our abilities without consideration of the “why” questions as well as the “how” and “what” questions.

“The most powerful form of environmental campaigning is the change of human communities. Their behaviour and lifestyles are well and away the most significant environmental influence on earth. We treat the world around it according to what we believe about it. Sadly many communities, Christian and otherwise, hold beliefs that are fundamentally destructive of creation”.
